Faces of the Green Man

"Somerset, 1925. An old country church is served by wooden masked villagers who claim fealty to "the Green Vicar." The local priest has vanished. You've come to investigate, but your motor car has mysteriously broken down. Something ancient stirs in the shadows…"

Faces of the Green Man is a solo one shot adventure module for Liminal Horror RPG. It was written as a submission to the Appx. N Jam in July 2025, based on the random title I was allocated by the Jam organisers. The game is basically fully self-contatined, designed as a short 'pick up and play' solo adventure. All you need is the the free Liminal Horror SRD (v2.0), some polyhedral dice, scrap paper, and this adventure.

It was inspired by weird fiction folk horror short stories of the early 20th Century, in the tradition of H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Clark Ashton Smith and other pulp fiction writers of that vintage. I was also inspired by solo RPG adventures published in early issues of White Dwarf magazine (no oracles, no journaling!).
